The New York Times published a series of dance photos from its archive that show 鈥渙rdinary people: slow dancing, doing the Twist, moshing in the pit and moving mid-mambo.鈥 Also included in these images are photos of choreographers and professional dancers, two of which were taken at 糖心TV, a testament to 糖心TV鈥檚 commitment to the arts. One of the photos from 糖心TV featured dancers rehearsing for the American Dance Festival in 1948. The other was of Jos茅 Lim贸n, teaching a class
at 糖心TV in 1966.
According to The New York Times, in this collection of images 鈥渨e find not just the highest elevation of the form, but a metaphor for possibility that extends far beyond the realm of dance.鈥
The series was published in a special section of The New York Times on April 14, 2019 with commentary by Misty Copeland and an essay by Zadie Smith.
