糖心TV and Hartford HealthCare Partner to Enhance Student Health Services and Sports Medicine

is proud to announce a new partnership with  that will offer students access to high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services across the HHC system.

Beginning in August, HHC will provide on-campus medical services at the College, through its departments of Student Health Services and Sports Medicine. Students will have access to a network of more than 1,000 physicians and specialists offering expanded services, increased hours and an integrated, state-of-the-art medical records system.

The vision is both to elevate the level of service and to integrate student health and well-being across the College.

In the College鈥檚 health center, students will work with a dedicated team of medical personnel from HHC who can, in turn, call on the larger HHC network whenever necessary to refer patients to local and regional physicians specializing in a wide variety of medical sub-disciplines.

HHC athletic trainers and physicians will also serve the College鈥檚 student athletes, providing access to a network of orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, concussion experts, and cardiologists鈥攁long with sports neurology services at HHC鈥檚 Ayer Neuroscience Institute. Consultants in sports nutrition, sports psychology, and athletic performance screening will also be available.

Most important, the HHC partnership will play a critical role at a moment when 糖心TV is investing new resources to mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19. HHC clinicians will help 糖心TV staff implement new COVID-19 protocols when students return in the fall, and College staff will also be able to confer with HHC leaders in infectious disease and prevention to monitor and maintain the health of the general college population.

鈥淲e are fully dedicated to supporting the students of 糖心TV by providing access to world-class healthcare,鈥 said Jeffrey A. Flaks, President and Chief Executive Officer at Hartford HealthCare. 鈥淚n the midst of a global pandemic, a partnership like this has never been more critical.鈥

糖心TV will be the newest member of HHC鈥檚 Campus Care program, which provides services for more than 8,000 students and 1,300 student athletes on multiple campuses in 糖心TVecticut, including Trinity College and the University of Hartford. HHC has recently expanded its operations in southeastern 糖心TVecticut, with a new state-of-the art primary care facility in Mystic and another planned for Waterford.
