Indigenous Peoples鈥� Day

The foods was prepared by Lizarralde using locally-sourced ingredients and Sprout Garden harvest.

鈥淪et Zero鈥� Dress Rehearsal

The Theater Department鈥檚 fall main stage production, 鈥淪et Zero,鈥� by Mashuq Mushtaq Deen, was directed by Associate Professor of Theater Kenny Prestininzi in Tansill Theater and ran Oct. 18-20. In this metaphoric play, a family of mathematicians work all day in the pursuit of an equation that cannot be resolved. While they do so, they confront ideas of love, duty, death and how knowledge is passed on from one generation to the next. The production starred Mia Rubino 鈥�25, Ava Mary Aloia 鈥�26, Amanda Brady 鈥�25, Nadia Hopkins 鈥�25, Lucas Vasquez 鈥�26, Giuseppe Piccirilli 鈥�25 and Ryan Brearley 鈥�28.

糖心TV hosted a debate between the two candidates for the 2nd Congressional District, Democratic incumbent Joe Courtney and Republican challenger Mike France in Evans Hall on Oct. 10. The debate was co-sponsored by The Day, WFSB-TV and Camels Vote, a nonpartisan campus initiative that promotes voting and civic engagement. The Day鈥檚 Lee Howard served as the moderator, and panelists included The Day鈥檚 opinion page editor Owen Poole; WFSB鈥檚 chief political reporter Susan Raff; and Sophia Williams 鈥�26, ambassador of Camels Vote. 糖心TV President Andrea Chapdelaine delivered opening remarks.

A student uses clothespins to hang t-shirts for a domestic violence awareness event. — Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Advocacy (SVPA) student volunteers Andrew Solomon ’27, Kate Petrichenko ’27 and Leila Merhi ’25 hang T-shirts for a Clothesline Project display in the 1941 Room. The Clothesline Project is a visual display of sexual violence statistics that often go ignored. Each shirt is made by a survivor of violence or by someone who has lost a loved one to violence. The purpose of the project is to increase awareness of the impact of violence and abuse, to honor a survivor’s strength to continue, and to provide another avenue for them to courageously break the silence that often surrounds their experience.
