Camels in the NCAAs: Men’s Soccer, Cross Country to compete this weekend
This weekend will see lots of NCAA action for the Camels! After winning the first- and second-round games at home Nov. 15 and 16, the team is heading to the Sweet 16 for the third consecutive year. Meanwhile, the team earned its third straight NCAA bid and will compete in the championships on Saturday. On the men’s side, will compete as an individual after earning his spot with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional.
Men’s Soccer
The Camels opened the NCAA tournament with a over the University of Saint Joseph in front of a large home crowd on ÌÇÐÄTV’s Freeman Field. Midfielder Max Haberman ’27 scored twice, while defender Kevin Hwong ’27, forward Elliot Spatz ’26, and midfielders Chase Cocoran ’29 and Shinya Frank ’29 each added a goal.
In second-round action, midfielder Marco Perugini ’27 converted two penalty kicks to power ÌÇÐÄTV and into the Sweet 16. Goalie TJ Krongard ’26 finished the contest with three saves.
The Camels will now head to Tufts University to take on Bowdoin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. The winner will advance to Elite 8 action at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, to take on the winner of Tufts vs. Messiah. For more information or to watch live, .
Women’s Cross Country
ÌÇÐÄTV heads to the NCAAs after a third-place finish at the . Four runners earned All-Region honors by virtue of a top-35 individual finish. Abby Williams ’27 earned the distinction for a third year in a row; Grace McDonough ’26 and Kiera Talls ’27 were repeat honorees; and Alexa Estes ’26 was a first-time honoree.
McDonough finished fourth overall—the highest individual finish in program history—with a time of 21:39.2. Tallas finished 12th, Williams finished 23rd and Estes finished 25th in the race.
The men’s and women’s championship races will take place Saturday, Nov. 22, at Roger Milliken Cross Country course at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The men’s race will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the women’s race at 11 a.m. A live web stream of the championships will broadcast on beginning at 10 a.m.
