New Silfen Grandstand Takes Shape

Construction workers build bleachers into an embankment alongside a running track on a college campus. — Crews continue work on the Fran Shields Grandstand at Silfen Track and Field Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The 500-seat grandstand and press box, construction expected to be completed in June 2026, are made possible by a generous gift from Timothy M. Armstrong '93 and Nancy A. Armstrong and the Men's Lacrosse Program in honor of Fran Shields P'14, longtime men's lacrosse coach and athletics director emeritus.
